Removing your vinyl wall decals or wallpaper may seem daunting, but it’s even easier than it was to install them in the first place!

1. Use a hairdryer.

It sounds a little crazy, but aim a hairdryer a few inches from your decal or wallpaper corner. The warm heat will loosen the adhesive, making peeling easy.

2. Start at the corner and peel.

If you have trouble getting it to peel up at first, use a butter knife or something with an edge that you can slide under to help you grip enough of the vinyl in order to pull. Peel slowly at a 45-degree angle.

3. Peel slowly.

Continue to aim the hairdryer at the next section as you slowly peel, allowing the warm air to loosen the adhesive as you go.

4. Repeat.

Feel free to tear the decals into small sections if it makes it easier to remove the excess vinyl as you go from your work area.

Boom! You’ll be looking at a clean wall ready for new decals in no time!

Before browsing our designs, it's crucial to choose the right adhesive for your walls. Here’s a quick guide:

- Standard Material: Best for smooth walls.

- Textured Material: Ideal for rough or textured surfaces.

- Pre-pasted Material: Suitable for smooth walls and provides long-lasting, traditional wallpaper.

This will ensure the best results for your wall decor project.

There's an easy way to find out! Simply run your hand up and down the wall. Does it feel smooth or is there a slight variation or bumpiness? If you feel some bumpiness, you have textured walls! Drywall is a classic example of a "smooth" texture whereas plaster and stucco are often textured. If you live in the American Southwest, there's a good chance your walls may be textured. The best way to know for sure is to order a sample of our products to see what sticks! Or, feel free to send us a picture of your wall and we can help you!

As long as the material matches the wall texture (smooth or textured) and the walls are clean and dry before application, the decals will adhere to the walls! It's worth noting that our products work best if there is ventilation in humid environments (like during showers), so be sure to crack a window or turn on the fan and you should be just fine!

How Many Decals Do I Need?

The sky is the limit. Well, to be fair, the ceiling is probably the limit. But how many decals will fit in a specific space totally depends on your vision for spacing and placing them.

Your best (and safest) bet would be to plot your design using a measuring tape and pencil to ensure you’re ordering the correct number of decals.

• Returns are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be sent back in unused condition. Return labels are not provided and each customer is responsible for return shipping costs to our US or Canadian warehouse. Once the item is received back to our warehouse, determined by the cost of your products, a 20% restocking fee is applied. If you wish to exchange, the restocking fee is waived but the item(s) exchanged must be of equal or greater value.
• Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns or refund for used products, wallpaper, murals, samples, sale items, VIP orders, or custom orders.
• For products returned within 30 days of the purchase date, a refund will be issued to the original form of payment. If returned after 30 days, store credit will be issued at the original selling price.
• Urbanwalls reserves the right to refuse returned products that have been used or altered in any way. Items must be returned in original packaging and undamaged - please repack your order with care. If delivered damaged the restocking fee may be larger the 20%.
• Items must be shipped back to our warehouse and cannot be returned to a store unless originally purchased at a store location.
• Purchases made before or after promotions/sales are not applicable for the sale discount. 
• Final Sale Policy: All "SALE" items (including VIP orders) or discounted items are final sales, including the use of promotional/discount codes. These items cannot be returned or exchanged, please read listings carefully before purchasing.
• We are only responsible for products purchased directly from uwdecals.com. If an item is from an outside retailer, it must be returned or exchanged where it was purchased.
• The original shipping charge is non-refundable. The cost to ship the items for a refund is to be covered by the purchaser wishing for a refund.
• We must receive the package at our warehouse in order to process the return/exchange. A partial refund will be sent to your original payment method, within 5-10 business days of receiving the item.
